I spent my time looking around to call the waiter over to take our order and after we got our drinks and app. We ate them and waited another 30 min until he came to take our order. If service improves it would be a nice place to hang out.
As I always do, I start with first impressions. The restaurant industry hinges its success on Service. Patrons should be first met with a smile, and real desire to please each and every one of them. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. My wife and I spent the afternoon hiking nearby, and were quite hungry. Being interested in possibly moving to this area, we decided to stop by, a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM. Parking at this time of day was easy to find, so that was nice. We decided to first walk inside to be seated, rather than just walking around back where all the outdoor seating was and I believe this was a mistake. I think we waited about 5 minutes as one patron, apparently taking care of multiple bills, was tying up the Cashier, whom I 'm guessing was doubling as the Hostess and Maitre d ', since the rest of the staff just walked right by us as if invisible. Finally I had a chance to talk to this High School age girl, who instead of looking up with a smile, looked down at her phone, busily texting away. When I asked if we should just seat ourselves, she reluctantly replied, Hold on, I 'll find a seat for you, and make sure you fill out this membership form.... . She takes us to a partial shade table the closest empty table from where she would retreat, and hunker down again. Is this OK? . We reluctantly agreed.Must admit, never been to a restaurant where a membership form is handed to you, with no explanation of what a Membership entails. Very strange, so this was put aside.Being too hot, temps were in the low 90 's, we decided to move. A much more polite waiter helped us move to a full shade area near the outside bar. This seemed much nicer, however these were full height bar stools made out of flimsy and uncomfortable metal! Beware if you are any heavier than 150 lbs!Due to the number of people directly outside from our table, we decided to move again, to a table on the other outside wall. Now here was a very nice place to sit, flimsy chair and all. Better chairs were elsewhere, in hotter areas, so we stayed put.The environment here is hard to beat. You are truly lake side, with a great view of the lower end of Long pond, which actually extends north into Pelham, NH. This environment is almost surreal, in how it paints a weekend summer 's day in modern day New England, one at a sandy beach with great water views. The swimming, the boats and jet skis, rental kayaks and such, were great to watch, with plenty of landing docks for you to come by watercraft. This alone may be worth the bill you will receive when you leave so your experience here may be completely different. If I come back, I will gladly update my review as seen fit.So when we were first seated in the bar area, our waiter arrived. Gruff the Crime Dog who was right in my face, asking what we would like to drink? I always start with a House Margarita, no salt. My wife doesn 't drink, so she orders a cup of tea. He slowly withdraws with a long OK, as if this was highly unusual.Within a reasonable time, Gruff comes back to inform us, they have no hot tea, so my wife orders tap water at room temp. A bar should always have Coffee and Tea for its customers, who have had a little too much, and therefore indirectly, for my wife. What does a box of Tea bags cost?My drink arrives in a clear plastic tumbler, like you buy at the dollar store. The drink is clear, indicating Silver Tequila. I like a Margarita that 's in some Mexican Glass, and has a carmel color. But the taste was good, and the alcohol adequate. A drink rating of 3.After we move to our final seating, we order a 5 Cocktail shrimp and Sauce for $10 and my second Margarita. He returns with the drink in reasonable time, and tries to take my first drink glass w/o asking. Always ask before taking from a customer. So now, I am plenty inebriated, waiting for the Shrimp, which being shoveled out of the fridge bag to position on a dish, would be all of 2 minutes time, but we are waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Now I am passed feeling comfortably ine
We held an event at Sandbar this past weekend and it was FLAWLESS. The staff was amazing! The bar was quick, food was delicious, and the owner was so easy to work with! All of our guests were so impressed by the updates and new menu. The owner went above and beyond for us and made the event perfect. He even was outside helping our guests with parking and making sure everything was perfect. (Not many owners are willing to be out there helping like that! This was a celebration of life for a young man who was a veteran and firefighter. The owner was aware of the situation and really helped our family out in a way that we can never thank him enough! Thank you to you and your staff for a great day!
First time at that place and the last. Never has I ever experienced anything like I have in any restaurant before. When I paid the bill at the bar I made the mistake in not leaving a twenty percent tip and the bartender let a customer know about it and then he proceeded to come over to me and threatened me to punch my face in and drown me in the pond. So I then attempted to give the bartender another twenty dollars then I left because he yelled it so loud every one heard him so humiliating never again. Every bartender has there bad with the good.
Had “reservations “ for New Year’s Eve. When they were made asked for dining upstairs as it was quiet , on arrival sat there for 10 minutes, first to greet us was a dog who was roaming around the customers indoors. There were no tables available, and had one option right next to the band that was playing. We were told “upstairs is closed due to the event”. I do understand this is a “club” so wouldn’t bother unless your a member.
