Al Fanar Auberge - Tyre

Nice little place in the Christian area of Sur. Used the be a light house, now a hotel/restaurant/bar where you can enjoy the sunset with a drink and/or dish. They also serve breakfast if you fancy a morning chill by the beach. You can dip in from the terrace direct into to sea if you you are feeling hot. Not the cheapes but overall a great place to visit if you are in Sur.

The service is great very friendly team, the bartender is adorable but the food needs somw improvement.

Amazing place to finish your trip in Tyre, with a lovely dinner by the sea. Tasty food, a bit expensive the fish but at least it’s fished locally. The staff is super welcoming and pet friendly !!

I feel compelled to share my thoughts about this place. Initially, it felt like heaven to us, as we became regular patrons. The familiar manager warmly greeted us, escorted us to our table, and took our order, as he has done in the past. The meal served to us was delicious, just as we had come to expect. This was our second visit this month, but we noticed some changes that left us perplexed. There seemed to be a shift in the clientele, and the music playing was considerably louder than our previous visits. The first time we encountered this, we politely asked for the volume to be lowered, and the staff obliged. However, the volume was gradually increased again, leading us to question whether we were dining at a restaurant or a nightclub. Despite our anticipation for a familiar experience, our recent visit turned out to be quite unpleasant. While the food was still of high quality, we found ourselves unable to enjoy it fully due to the overwhelming noise. Additionally, one of the waiters displayed rudeness by using derogatory language in Arabic, assuming we wouldn't understand. As we walked inside, we were confronted with a bartender who was making inappropriate jokes while being partially unclothed. The combination of the excessively loud music and the staff's apparent amusement at our expense made the atmosphere feel more like a social gathering rather than a professional dining establishment. Moreover, I was shouted at when inquiring about our drinks, as the bartender attempted to assert his superiority over us. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, it felt inflated, further diminishing our overall experience. We have been patrons of this establishment numerous times before, but after two consecutive disappointing visits, we have decided not to return. While the prices were already on the higher side, the unique experiences we used to enjoy made it worth it. Unfortunately, recent occurrences have led us to conclude that this is no longer the case.
