The campground itself is nestled in a stunning area reminiscent of an ancient Pacific Northwest rainforest, with picturesque moss and towering trees surrounding you. There's a large communal fire pit near the parking area for campers to enjoy, as well as bathrooms and, if I recall correctly, showers on-site. Now, about the surf shop: it's not your typical commercial surf store, like a Billabong or a chain shop you’d find at a boardwalk. Instead, it’s all about getting you out on the waves. They have what you need and nothing more. If you’re a surfer with your own board, you’ll find essentials like wax, fins, and wetsuits if you need one. And if, like me, you’re without a board, they’ve got you covered too. They offer some of the most competitive surfboard rentals in the Tofino-Ucluelet area, and if you’re camping here, you’ll even get a discount—making this place a fantastic deal. It’s so relaxed here, and the staff at the surf shop (which seems to be a family and friends operation) are wonderful. As someone from the Midwest who learned to surf on Lake Superior, I found it nostalgic that they played "Surf's Up" every morning in the shop. You could grab a cup of coffee, check the surf forecast, and watch Chicken Joe catch waves on the TV. All in all, this was one of the coolest places I visited during my two-month adventure.
Great place! A good stopover after your day at the beach for a drink or a small bite.
The meat in tacos are dry, halibut burger was not bad. Two people were running the food truck, 15 min wait time during lunch when we were there. There's washroom right beside it. Overall a good place to stop before heading down the road to cross Vancouver island.
Cute and informal atmosphere around the fire point. Kids enjoyed a la carte breakfast, I enjoyed my salmon blt wrap. Chick burger was ok. Worth a stop!
Food? Yes, they do serve food here. I didn't try it, and honestly, I'm not bothered by that. If the food is the only reason you visit this place, you're making a huge mistake. I...
