Itihaas - Udaipur

Etihaasik Meal at the Itihaas - Radisson Udaipur ! This is rather a strange combination of Moti Mahal Deluxe (of Delhi fame) in collaboration with the Radisson Group however the dishes they serve out are not strange at all by any stature of imagination. When I say the combination being strange the reason being they carry the branding of Radisson however they are located inside the adjoining Lake City Mall rather than within the Radisson Hotel's premises. So initially it left me confused as I went there thinking I am going to have a meal at Radisson but it turned out it was Moti Mahal Deluxe which actually didn't turn out to be bad having tasted Radisson Goa's appalling food once ;)  On a Thursday evening we visited them for Dinner but were surprised on learning that we were the only ones dining here and that was concerning as we were not sure if the ensuing food that will be served would be any good? At the end of the meal I can definitely say that they did serve us some of the most authentic Mughlai food we have had in a long time, the area where they strongly lack is showing some genuine courtesy to their guests instead of an artifical wooden look which one of their female hostesses had for some weird reason. Coming to the food part - dishes to remember were the Murgh Kalimirch soup , Chicken tikka, Mutton roganjosh, Kadhai murgh, the amazing Gulab Jamuns and an authentic phirni (not like the ones you get in BBQ Nation but really good one). The Ambience was pretty good and the service was quite attentive however again I am deducting .5 rating because of our experience with the hostess who for some reason acted quite strange and aloof, the other male steward who served us was the saving grace. Food was very nice, taste and quality was authentic. Live music was good. The staff was nice, specially the lady who seems to be the manager of the restaurant. Had a good time.

The restaurant has a very elegant ambience. Murg Kali Mirch Shorba was among the best chicken soups I have ever had. Tandoori chicken and Butter Chicken are all time moti mahal classics. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was delicious, the ultimate and peaceful restaurant service was also well one of the best restaurants in udaipur .
