I can understand and understand the previous post. Perhaps some things are relative when the high-summer stress has dropped. The Knaus at the port is really beautiful at the port of Unteruhldingen, although this is a bit in the second row (in hotel brochures something is said to be “side sea view”). The house offers various room categories for overnight stay, a restaurant, a spacious outdoor terrace, as well as a Sky Bar, which is welcome to visit. Parking is available directly in front of and in a larger car park just behind the house – and parking is really worth gold here. However, as a home guest, who already has a lot of money here, you can also charge 6,00 euros per day. Not very fine, but that's on another sheet. Due to the great culinary offer of this place, I have unfortunately not eaten this time in the restaurant of the Hotel Knaus, but daily used the rich and very well-stocked breakfast buffet of the house. For the sake of interest, I have studied the menu of the restaurant extensively and would certainly have opted for one of the fish dishes or salad plates. The comfortably reachable and with high conifers very appealing green terrace is definitely well visited on sunny days; However, we had rainy weather almost throughout and could look from our balcony on a orphaned guest garden. The furniture no longer seemed completely deaf and already a bit torn off (as well as other parts of the interior – the house has just arrived a bit in the years, but you are very interested in refreshing and updating). The breakfast buffet was first-class, very fresh and versatile, constantly updated. I can only report good about fresh fruit salad with apples, oranges, nectarines and grapes (not really from the can, like elsewhere), the large range of cereals, the tender and ally agitation (usually totally dry on other buffets), the delicious, albeit some salty smoked salmon, the hearty cheese offering, the fine baked eggs. Coffee specialities can be pinned on the full machine: cappuccino, cafe cream, latte macchiato, espresso etc. There are also filter coffees and a large tea selection. Very great and practical: both small cups and large handle glasses, which can be used depending on the Gusto or intended use. There are also two kinds of glasses for the fresh juices. The dishes are unprecedented and well maintained. I have rarely experienced such attentive and reluctant operating service. There were always 2-3 young service ladies in the background, on request intervened and constantly reloaded the buffet from 7 am to 10 pm. They agreed to each other quietly but efficiently. As soon as one of the table mufflers appeared full, he was immediately emptied. The tablecloths were cleaned in between and made fresh again, the chairs were backed up. And that with the silent, inconspicuous manners of little ones. Also in other areas the house acted very customer-oriented, fast and with great friendliness. The toilets are very well maintained. Here everything finally works without any problems: soap dispensers, towel dispensers, fittings, toilet paper dispensers (which already throws out the paper in portions). There is a “virtual concierge”, a screen with touchscreen and internet access. Additional information such as excursion tips can also be obtained here. All in all, there is a great deal of effort and commitment here, but as a home guest I also had the feeling of being secretly zoomed and having to finance the entire walking area with additional costs. But this is also more off-topic and should find its precipitation in another portal. My vague recommendation would almost be: at Hotel Knaus, dine at the harbour, but stay somewhere else? I am curious what other guests will report!
