Ulladulla Indian Restaurant

There are three Indian restaurants in town and I have tried them all as a connoisseur of Indian I felt this was an important thing to do. Out of the three this is the worst. It just doesn't have the depth of Bay leaf on Mason st. the oldies seem to like though. Maybe the recipes more suited to those who like less traditional dishes

Basic decor and seating. One of the best Tandoori Chicken dishes we've ever eaten. Vegetable curry also great. Staff were friendly. BYO.

I reviewed this restaurant some months ago so thought I should give it another go but it is still the same to my taste.Nan bread, Dhal, Beef Vindaloo, some good flavours but sorry unnecessarily every dish is still way too salty!I have Indian and Sri Lankan friends who's places I eat at as well I have spent a lot of time in India and Asia and I always seek out the Indian quarter for the food so I am not new to Indian cooking. Your flavours are good but I think you use too much salt. Sorry I am sure you work hard to prepare the best and freshest you can. Maybe it's just me as you seem to have lots of other good reviews.

We enjoyed entrees, mains, rice, naan and dessert. It was all full of flavour, authentic and delicious. The chicken in the tikka masala was amazing! We felt very welcome and it was so nice to meet the owner of the resultant who was so knowledgable and had so much pride in the food. She even sold me some curry sauce to take home.

Our hostess who hails from Northern India welcomed us in for lunch. We were the only couple there and she spent time talking about the food to us. The lunch menu is restricted but that is not a problem when it is excellently prepared and is good value. The butter chicken was perfectly cooked and very tasty, the dal makhni excellent, perfect for my vegetarian wife, it was some of the best dal I have tasted. The decor is okay and interesting but the food is what matters. We will be going back at night to sample the full menu.
