Hope Anchor - Ulverston

I found The Hope Anchor through email as they offer vegan options and made a reservation for dinner on Tuesday. This cozy local pub provided a warm welcome from our host, Joanne. We sat in the bar area and ordered spaghetti with olive oil, chili, capers, and olives, along with a funghi pizza. The food was fantastic; the pasta was delicious and flavorful. Joanne's partner makes the sourdough pizza base, which made the pizza delightful. A highlight of the evening was the local musicians performing folk music, adding an unexpected touch of entertainment. We had a wonderful time with great food and a lovely host. Without a doubt, it's the best pub in Ulverston, and vegans and vegetarians will definitely find satisfying options. I will certainly be returning!

We visited on a Thursday night when they had a fantastic deal of two pizzas for ten pounds. The pizzas were not only a great value, but they were also the most delicious vegan pizzas I've ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. There were three of us, and we ordered three pizzas, but they informed us that for just an extra 50p, we could get a fourth pizza as part of the deal. So, we decided to take one to go!

It was such a beautiful surprise to find a veggie pub at our day outside in the south lakes. the staff is beautiful and the eating was great.

Hands down one of the best vegan pizzas I've ever had (and we had vegan pizza at our wedding that's how commited to vegan pizza we are) so friendly we wish we were staying longer in Ulverston to eat there more!!
