Jane's Saddlebag - Union

This is a really cool and unique getaway destination. Whether you choose to visit it as a specific destination or stop by while staying at Big Bone State Park, you won't be disappointed. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of fun activities for the entire family!

The owner is a sweetheart so I hate leaving negative comments; however, maybe they will help improve the food. The potato salad had way too much mayo; the fries were hard as a rock and did not taste like any fry I've had; the corn pudding was odd at best. The bison burger was good but way too thick for my personal taste. It's an adorable little place and the area was lovely, but after driving for nearly 2 hours to get there, was super disappointed in the food.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Big Bone. Mary provided exceptional service and made us feel completely at home. The burger patties are sourced from a local butcher, and the portion sizes were incredibly generous!

What a lovely hidden gem! We were visiting from St. Louis and stumbled upon this place by chance, and we're so glad we did! It was exactly what we needed that day. There was fantastic live music, a nice outdoor seating area, excellent wine, and plenty of space for the kids to run around outside. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!
