La Gran Via Bakery - Union City

The pastries at this restaurant are fantastic, but the service could use improvement. I've found myself waiting for assistance while the staff chats with each other, seemingly indifferent to the waiting customers. It's disappointing, especially since I love all their food. I've considered going back a couple of times despite this issue.

Easily the best most authentic Cuban bakery outside of Miami. It's a rarity these days. There croquetas, pastelitos de carne, and pasteles de guayaba are my favorite options but you can't go wrong with anything. Don't forget the cafecito!

The best Cuban bakery in Hudson County and most likely in the state of NJ. The variety of pastries and the quality is truly amazing and their cakes are delicious and beautifully decorated. Even my relatives from upstate New York place their orders for celebrations and holidays. I must also mention that their pastelitos de carne, and croquetas are simply the best.

Love this bakery. Been going here for many years. Great pastelitos de carne and galletas but, lately, some of the galletas have a strong detergent smell/taste. I noticed they place the galletas directly onto a table in the back to package them into plastic bags so I'm guessing that they clean the table with some strong smelling detergent and the smell transfers over to the crackers. I usually buy 4 bags of crackers and for some time now, about half the crackers have this issue. I have mentioned it many times to the workers but I am still having the same issue so I thought I would mention it here because the crackers that don't smell/taste like detergent are the best in town, bar none, so I'm counting on/hoping for this issue to be corrected ASAP.
