For eight months, I could only think that these fools were. The knowledge that this business won a James Beard award in January 2018, I could not wait to try it. When I could finally visit, I ordered an asparagus tamale and a pork tamale on site to try to order a larger amount of one or both to take with me. I couldn't have been disappointed. I'm not sure what the problem with Masa was, but it was excessively stiff and wet. Neither Tamale had much taste. Also added with the house salsa, there was simply?t enough taste to make that we want to end eating the tamales. I don't know if my experience was one or not, but I wasn't motivated enough to return and give this business a second attempt.
The best perpetrators I've ever had. Her hairdressers are also the best I ever had, even at home. The owner was great and talked to us about the company's history. There is no question why they are strong in Union Gap for so long.
A friend recommended we stop here and I'm so glad. Lunch specialities of pork and chicken pigs. Then we have two more single-tamales because it's just so delicious. I have an order of beans and green salsa. I'm looking forward to rice and beans lunch tomorrow! Will certainly be back in spring to try the asparagus tamales.
The most amazing Tamales? recently traveled from Boston to the Yakima Valley and was looking forward to the incredible Mexican food found here. This place exceeded my expectations. Incredible taste in a humble little place for very low prices. I can't beat that!
How can you make a tamale better? I don't know, but these folks have figured it out! Everything is seasoned to perfection from the tomatilla salsa to the beans. And I'd say my favorite are asparagus and cheese.
