Our server was Michelle, I made sure to get her name before I left because she did an amazing job keeping up with a party of 13 people including adults and kids, very friendly with the patience of a saint.The atmosphere is always enjoyable. I like getting to hang out with family in the gift shop before and after eating browsing the different candies and sodas they have. I'm a big soda guy myself so I'm always on the lookout for a nice craft soda and there's not many places where you can still find the old fashioned Gilliam hard candy sticks.Here's a picture of a Styracosaurus, my favorite ceratopsian dinosaur
Never disappointed with a Cracker Barrel meal. Good food, great portions, and a fair price.
Over the years and especially the last few years has gone downhill. Let me explain. I love this place and it's one of my most favorite places to eat. Common problem EVERYTIME I ORDER TO GO. I order the same chicken and dumplings everytime. I know what the portion size is. I've been told by several managers of the years 3-4 chicken tenders should be with the dumplings. EVERY TO GO ORDER is short. 2 maybe 3 pieces(bites). IF I WANTED JUST DUMPLING, I WOULD HAVE JUST ORDERED THAT. ITS A JOKE EVERYTIME. I have to say something everytime. Sure, I could quit coming here but I love the food. THIS IS A STORE OR CORPORATE LEVEL OF WHERE THRY ARE TOLD TO SHORTEN TO GO ORDERS. The reason I say this is because I go in, sit down to eat and order. It's made correctly!!! I don't believe in coincidences. It's purposely done to the to go orders and they think nobody will say anything. Welp, IM SAYING SOMETHING AND ITS NOTED. It's frustrating that a company needs to change the consistency to pinch a few pennies or dollars. Most people would stop going. It saddens me to write this cause, again I've ate here for years and loved it. Now it's a sad and stingy place.
I get curbside take out at the Valrico location at least once a month, if not more often. I'm not quite sure if management has changed or what has happened, but every time I pick up my order my food is cold, and is missing an item. I always arrive a few minutes before the time that I'm told my order will be ready by. I'm not sure if the food is being made ready before that time and then just put in the pickup area, but when I order takeout I don't want to have to go back home to heat it up before eating it. And I'm not quite sure how they can consistently forget items when they are listed right on the order ticket. I know people are human and if it was a one-time thing, I'd understand. It has become a pattern though. If someone doesn't care enough about their job to make sure that the customer is getting everything they ordered, maybe they need to find a different job. They need to think how they would feel if they got home and realized that something was missing from their order. Disappointing for Cracker Barrel standards for sure
