The menu is extensive and carried with Chinese, Thai and sushi offerings. It’s not a place you’re going to linger and socialize with friends, but tho food was fine and delivering quickly. I had the $16.95 chicken and broccoli combination plate that came with a choice of soup, served with lo mein and white rice and an egg roll. Portion size was large.
We arrived in Fairbanks on the train from Anchorage and most of the restaurants in town were closed. We like trying Chinese in really out of the way places, and so decided to try Lin’s. We’re very glad we did. The atmosphere is great. A lot of money was spent doing the interior at some point, which was very clean, and they play 1940s music which was very different for a Chinese restaurant and we loved. Service was quick and friendly. Our entrees came with a lot of vegetables, which isn’t the norm, and they were firm and not over cooked or steamed — also not the norm. I’ve been to China multiple times, and eaten in a ton of different Chinese restaurants outside of China. Granted, this was still Chinese-American food, but it was really really good Chinese-American food. Factor in that Fairbanks is in the middle of Alaska, and we were impressed.
My wife and I had the spicy garlic eggplant and Mongolian beef both were very good. We both like spice and these were just right. Service was good and we thoroughly enjoyed.
I arrived at my Fairbanks hotel tired, cold, and not wanting to go back out -20) for dinner. I saw that Lin’s delivered to my hotel and placed my delivery order directly through them). Forty minutes later exactly when they said to expect it) I received a delicious Sesame Chicken combination dinner that was warm, tasty, and definitely enough to feed two hungry people. Heartily recommend!
My fiancee and I have ordered delivery from this place a few times and always really enjoyed it. We decided we'd stop in and eat one evening and were saddly disappointed. Though we were seated immediatel and there was only one other party in the place, it took several mintes for some one to bring menus and then several more before our order was taken. When the food came to the table, my order came first and it was another 10 minutes before hers came. Being some one who was taught that you wait until everyone is ready to eat, it meant that my food was barely luke warm. It was rather bland compared to the stuff we get when it's delivered. The wait staff disappeared and was not to be seen until a third party came into the restuarant about half an hour after my fiancee got her meal. It meant that our drinks were nevr refreshed nor were the appitisers plates ever removed from the table. We left feeling very disappointed in what we had expected to be an enjoyable meal.
