The service is getting slightly better! I wouldn't say it was good, but it isn't awful anymore.
My girlfriend and I had an early dinner here and enjoyed it very much.
Great food and portion sizes. It was a warm and cozy place to be after a long day of driving and visit to Wrangell St Elias Natl Park. We started with dessert first (why not) of a delicious homemade rhubarb pie in a little mini tin with vanilla ice cream on top. They also had blueberry and apple as choices. Then we shared the piping hot corn fritters that came with honey butter. Super good but super filling. The Reuben was amazing. Very tender meat and delicious homemade sauce with hand cut French fries. Seems like the local hangout spot. And was greeted by a very friendly dog on the way in! Wine and beer options as well.
My wife and I stopped by the restaurant on our last day in copper center. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, hot food! I had the fish and chips (halibut) which was perfectly cooked. There is a fine line between overcooking halibut so that you are chewing on a rubber stick and obtaining that soft freshness with a good crispy outside. We enjoyed the local beers on tap, and wonderful homemade pies. I would stop by in a heartbeat if I was headed through the area.
