Bobq - University City

I ordered the pork and beef combo, which is my favorite flavor. I truly enjoy the atmosphere here, and this is my go-to restaurant in St. Louis. As for vegetarian options, they offer tofu.

The restaurant is clean and has a pleasant aroma as you enter, with the ambiance enhanced by soft Korean music in the background. Unfortunately, it falls short when it comes to the food. While the dishes are flavorful, they lack complexity. I missed the egg, carrot, and green onion that would have added more depth. Additionally, there were no spices available at the table. These details may seem minor, but they do contribute to the overall experience. As a result, this charming Korean restaurant is outdone by Seoul Taco down the street, which offers a much better meal at a similar price.

The restaurant is cozy, with just three tables, although they could definitely accommodate one or two more. The menu is limited, but the beef bulgogi topped with a fried egg was absolutely delicious! My husband has been a regular here for a while and finally got me to give it a try—it was quite good! While there isn’t much variety in terms of food and drinks, it’s important to remember that the space is small and run by just two people. It definitely has potential for growth.

Very basic Korean BBQ. It is my favorite food so I’ve had almost every K BBQ restaurant in STL and stopped here while I was in the area and needed something quick. There were only 2 people working so service was a bit slow. Food was a little bland and not enough sauce which made it dry. The bowl you get is smaller than I thought I would be getting for $15. It was all just OK. Would not come here again as there are just better options in STL ?‍
