Imari Sashimi Sushi - Upland

Best sushi place in Upland, in my opinion, and very underrated! Fresh fish and food, amazing and friendly service, and quick take-out. They are take-out only, but you can order ahead of time or in person. Either option usually only takes about 10-15min (based on my past orders). Th definition of hole in the wall sushi is Imari. It's take out only and some of the best sushi quality east of the 57 fwy. This humbly quaint spot is in a strip mall and very unassuming. The authentic sushi and sashimi platters with fresh fish are amazing. He uses fresh wasabi and doesn't charge extra for it. Because its to go only, the prices are affordable for quality hard to find fish like uni, snapper, and 3 different cuts of blue fin (including toro). The chefs attention to detail is impeccable. The customer service is unlike any other restaurant.I highly recommend this local take out spot for those omakase lovers also. Even though you are not getting served by the chef while dining in, he still curates each order with love and huge pieces of fish for you to enjoy at home (or in your car in the parking lot).

Imari Sushi is a hidden gem that rivals the quality and flavor of high-end sushi places in LA, all tucked away in an unassuming plaza beside a Little Caesars (which is quite handy if you want to indulge in a quality nigiri set while letting the kids enjoy a $5 Hot-n-Ready pizza). I wholeheartedly recommend any of their sushi bowls; I've tried every single one and they've never let me down. The only disappointing thing about Imari is the undeserved one-star reviews it receives.

Without a doubt, this is the best sushi in California! The customer service is outstanding as well. Having lived in Japan for several years, I can confidently say this is the only place in California that comes close to authentic Japanese sushi. I'll be back next week!
