The staff at this restaurant are inexperienced and rude. They have unpredictable closing times with no explanation, and sometimes they don't even open without any notice on their website. However, they do offer a nice selection of tap beers, cocktails, and other drinks. The manager or owner (I'm not sure of his title) is very friendly and accommodating, willing to replace anything if there is an issue. Unfortunately, the bar staff lack people skills and are impolite. They also have a strange policy of only allowing one drink before and after a meal. Overall, I would not recommend dining at this establishment.
I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with my family. We were confused about the ordering process, so we went up to the counter for help. The girl working there seemed preoccupied with rearranging bottles of alcohol and did not acknowledge us when we approached her. Despite being the only customers waiting, she avoided making eye contact and instead focused on the till. To make matters worse, she then checked her phone and walked away without assisting us. We were disappointed by the lack of customer service and will not be returning to this establishment. As locals, we will also refrain from recommending it to others.
Our experience at this restaurant today was terrible. It was our first time visiting and it completely ruined what we had hoped would be a nice end to our morning. We stopped in for lunch and ordered 2 pieces of Coral Trout, a piece of Cod with chips, and a bottle of wine. Despite a long wait (due to a busy lunch trade), our fish arrived without the chips. After a 10-minute wait, the chips finally came out. However, the trout was extremely salty, making it inedible. We brought it to the counter and after some discussion, they agreed to cook us a new batch with salt on the side. It took another 30 minutes for the replacement fish to arrive, only to find that it was just as salty as the original. When we asked about this, we were told that the fish comes to them pre-salted. This information was never relayed to us before. We requested a refund for the two pieces of fish we couldn't eat, but were initially told we would only receive a refund for one piece since we had consumed some of it. After waiting for the boss to intervene, we were eventually given a full refund. It was clear that the staff, particularly the young girls who were tasked with handling our complaints, were inexperienced and poorly trained. We were not upset with them, but rather disappointed in the management for not addressing our concerns directly. Shame on them for their lack of professionalism.
What an awful establishment. Tried to get some lunch whilst visiting the waterpark but told we have to sign in (Covid register to sit down at a table. An agonisingly slow order process with one lone slow front counter worker. Whilst waiting in line to order, what looked like some of her friends just turned up and jumped right in front of everyone, a couple that she seemed to know well. They ordered and paid ahead of everyone else who 'd been waiting, we couldn 't believe how brazen it was, how much disdain it showed for their customers. Then we went to order and asked to sign in so we could eat, but they refused to let us sign in manually and told us that is was via QR Code only! Completely and utterly ludicrous as we are at a water park. They flat refused to take our contact information after we ordered and made it clear that if we sat on a seat they 'd have us removed, it was borderline threatening. Scum! Pointless exercise anyway as everyone waiting for takeaway and eat in had to sit and wait in close proximity undercover anyway, it made no difference at all as we were there for half an hour waiting stuck together with all the diners and customers. Covid safe total fail. The management couldn 't be more inept and thoughtless on this front. We weren 't told how long our food would be (we wouldn 't have ordered if we knew but it turned out to be nearly half an hour just for one piece of fish, a couple of calamari and some chips. The staff clearly had no interest in doing things with any sort of urgency or customer care, just dawdling back and forth with a sort of 'one order at a time ' approach, one of the most under-equipped and unprofessional set ups I 've ever seen. Junior staff with little to no experience, and at least two people short to deal with the typical lunch time trade they were experiencing. Once we finally received our food (felt like an eternity we were forced off the property to go and find some place outside to eat. Opened the pack to see the mess that was inside. We specifically ordered chicken salt and tartare sauce which we paid for, what we got was a pile of greasy over battered fish, tomato sauce instead of tartare (who in their right mind eats tomato sauce on their fish? and plain salt on our chips. The calamari was totally tasteless, like gnawing on a rubber shoe sole, and had zero seasoning or flavour. The fish inside was about the only good thing, once you battled past the ounces and ounces of grease. So — they don 't offer contact tracing for anyone without a phone and the apps and skills to work a QR code (this excludes and discriminates against a lot of people and they threaten you off the property with your food if you don 't have a phone. They seem to not care less who it discriminates against or affects. The staff are running at perpetual dead slow setting, and they can 't tell the difference between tartare sauce, tomato sauce, chicken salt or plain salt. SAVE your money and time and head south about a km along the esplanade, far, far better service and product and the fish and chip shop down there.
