A group of 14 of OAT travelers ate dinner here. The building is gorgeous with lots of glass. While the roasted chicken was wonderful (juicy and tender with crisp skin), the salad portions were so meager that I got a tiny amount. The chicken was accompanied by not great fries. And NO dessert! We were shocked! The family style service poses problems with access to enough food, and there was not enough for all to eat.
Oscar, owner and host, was gracious and engaging, and is quite the entrepreneur and art supporter. We went to dinner as part of an OAT tour, so our guide was friendly with Oscar and told us about his renovated "colonial" house, which is very lovely. The chicken and fries were good. I would recommend dinner here.
I couldn't speak more highly of the food and service here. I loved the roast chicken- it tastes so fresh and much better than chicken in the United States. Oscar- the host/owner- is so friendly and really knows good food. We loved the fries here, the potatoes in Peru in general are amazing! The place is also an architectural wonder- great view of the kitchen from the dining room, to see the chickens roasting and the chefs at work. There are glass windows from floor to ceiling to showcase the garden outside which is stunning. I wish I could have food like this back home! Highly recommend it.
You must really try this place if you are looking for a great time and a great meal in Urubamba. Food, drinks and price were all excellent and we were all gratefull to have Oscar, the place owner, as a host, His lovely house will ensure you a wonderful time down in the valley. WORTH TRYING IT!
