Also the bartender was rude. I was not the only one to notice this, several of my classmates expressed the same opinion after getting a drink. We did call a few days earlier about our get together in hopes of having two bartenders, but it must have fallen on deaf ears.
Great beer, and a great place to hang in general. Not the kind of spot we get a lot of in Utica, and I intend that entirely as a compliment. Next time you find yourself in town, this is a mandatory stop.
We had to go to Utica pick up our granddaughter. Decided to try out a local microbrewery and found this delightful place! We shared a flight and my husband's favorite was a pilsner and I really enjoyed the Russian imperial stout. The menu is limited, however their eclectic spin on German food is unique and delectable. We had the roasted brussel sprouts and the schnitzel sliders. We also got a side of German potato salad. No complaints about this place! The bartender was cute, friendly and very attentive.
Very disappointing; beautiful location but after ordering a sampler of 4 beers, we couldn't even finish the samples and were not interested in ordering anything else. The food was extremely greasy and the service, even with only 3 tables, was somehow even worse than the food and the beer. Lots of potential but based on our experience would not recommend this place to anyone else.
The brewery is across from the art deco Adirondack train station. A micro brewery in a beautiful lofty industrial like warehouse with a German inspired menu. Bagg was named after Moses Bagg a blacksmith in Utica with great historic ties. This places is so spacious with a great variety of flavorful craft beers. We really wanted to love the food as much as the beer but it lacked a bit.Bavarian Pretzel paired with a delicious bacon jam. Pretzel was missing the Millard flavor; deep brown/golden shiny crisp crust, but the inside was soft and pillowy.Cheese curds was served on an iron skillet with crispy chunks of cheese. The Thai chili sauce had a nice kick.Brussels Sprouts tossed with crispy bacon golden raisins. Not your typical crispy sprouts but the flavors were nice with a mixture of sweet and savory bites.
