We all had the traditional Sunday lunch, mainly the Roast Pork which was excellent. Great crackling, and rolled for a good presentation. Roast potatoes cooked well crispy outside and soft inside good range of vegetables and an enormous Yorkshire pudding with extra gravy, sauces etc. We also had Cauliflower Cheese as an extra really delicious! No room left for desert but an excellent traditional lunch in a traditional ‘thatched roof’ pub. Service throughout was excellent. We will certainly return again.
Visited for the first time today with friends for Sunday lunch and can honestly say it is best roast dinner we’ve ever eaten out. The beef was so tender and tasted fantastic, really good variety of vegetables, and the roast potatoes were excellent. Highly recommend. I didn’t eat a pudding but those who did said they were yummy too.
My dining experience at this restaurant was limited due to dietary restrictions. I was the only vegetarian in my group of friends, but my friend who booked the table was informed of a good vegetarian menu. I started with the potato and aioli dip, which was pleasant but the potatoes were a bit greasy and crispy. My husband had the gammon, which he found dry, with chips, egg, and pineapple but no other sides. My friend enjoyed the fish. The vegetarian options were the typical 5 bean chili or Fresh Spaghetti with Tomato, Peppers, Caper Sauce, and basil. The portion size of the spaghetti was huge, enough for a family of four, but it was bland and soggy with no other flavors. There were no additional sides like garlic bread or salad provided with the dish, which was priced at £14.50. The service and atmosphere were good, but the restaurant is not ideal for vegetarians and definitely not for vegans. The menu lacked creativity and variety beyond the usual options for vegetarians. Overall, while the restaurant was nice, the limited menu for dietary restrictions left me feeling hungry and disappointed.
We visited this restaurant for the second time and once again, the food and service were excellent, just like our first visit. Last time, we celebrated my mom's birthday and this time, it was for my sister. The menu offers a variety of dishes that are all well presented. This charming English pub in a lovely village is highly recommended for a visit. Thank you.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I was searching for a fantastic local spot to dine at, with delicious food and excellent service, and this place is perfect for us! Despite being quite particular, I can't find any faults here and honestly wouldn't want to. The food is consistently cooked to perfection and the portions are generous. The staff are warm and attentive. The establishment is clean and cozy. The Sunday roasts are particularly popular and reservations are necessary. The restaurant always has a steady crowd, indicating they are very well-managed. Bravo and thank you for numerous delightful meals.
