I absolutely adore this restaurant. When I used to work in the area, I would have lunch there once a week. Now, I get takeout about once a month. Their scallion chicken is the best - it's pan-cooked, not fried, and loaded with onions. The wings and wontons are also amazing. During lunch, the lady who works there sometimes listens to her own music and sings - it's like getting lunch and a show! The atmosphere is not fancy, which is probably why I love it so much.
I applaud the new owners for their fantastic work in revamping this restaurant. The food is incredibly fresh, and the pork fried rice is bursting with flavor! I used to only stop by hesitantly because it was the only Chinese option on my way home from work. If they continue to serve fresh, delicious food like this, it will definitely become my go-to Chinese restaurant.
This Chinese restaurant is my absolute favorite, with no close competition. I love that they offer the option of ordering only white meat chicken. Their homemade cream cheese wontons are delicious, and their fried rice is something special - it must be a secret family recipe because I've never encountered anything like it before.
Every time we go to Happy Garden, we are greeted with a friendly smile and hospitality. The combination of Chinese and Japanese food options makes this our favorite place to eat out. The Christian radio playing over the speakers is a plus too. Our autistic daughter loves the decorations/artwork and is always welcomed too. I would recommend Happy Garden to anyone who loves Chinese/Japanese food, great atmosphere and a friendly welcome each time we go. PS...the tea is super sweet!
