Don't bother ordering the coffee--only thing I tried that was disappointing. Such a cool atmosphere--in both senses of the word--with outstanding service!
A belated entry for this wonderful restaurant in the León countryside and in the winemaking village of Valdevimbre. Fantastic atmosphere, a memorable winetasting experience with local wine producer Pardevalles and a marvelous dinner.
My wife and I tried this restaurant on the advice of our B&B in Leon. What a pleasure...the waitress spoke little english, but after two weeks in Spain, we were able to converse in menu quite easily. Started with a bottle of the local specialty, red, Prieto Picuda wine. An unusual grape with excellent flavour and body. Along with the white asparagus (in season) and followed by the roast lamb, finishing with a crema Quemada ....not your typical flan, more like a baked egg cream and to die for. Well worth the 25 min drive from Leon and highly recommended.
This restaurant is in one of the many converted wine caves of Valdevimbre, Spain. It was a really cool experience to eat inside the cave, which was also very nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and the food was superb. It was a nice change of pace to find some creative items on the menu (not just the usual patatas bravas and croquetas here! . We tried several different items and each were excellent. It's off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out!
A spectacular place to eat and enjoy those caves. although more interesting is to know how the wine and the operation of that old winery were.
