Clayton's Shrimp Basket - Valdosta

Was passing through on our way to Florida and wanted seafood, so found this place on Yelp. Pulling into the parking lot we weren't quite sure but decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed the food here is awesome!

Amazing! Great food! Beer battered onion rings, fried shrimp, the bang bang sauce is ON POINT! Gluten free hubby got the steamed pot with shrimp. crab legs and sausage. He said it was so yummy! Elivia was our server, she was so helpful with suggestions and excellent service. Don't sleep on the fish dip either. Mommy. SO glad I searched for local restaurants near me. This was excellent ?

We decided to stop by and see what all the raving was about for this place. It is in a great location and it's easy to get in and out. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and the young lady told us about the specials and what that are know for. We decided on the bang bang shrimp and the seafood nachos. The bang bang shrimp had a great flavor to them and were cooked to perfection. The fries can use some work. They were over cooked and hard. They tasted like they were cooked in the same grease as everything else. The seafood nachos were decent . The chips were fresh fried pitas cut up and seasoned. They covered them with melted cheese, grilled shrimp and onions. Lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream were on the side. The nachos could use some more cheese and the only seafood I had were the shrimp. They should have been shrimp nachos. Overall, with a few corrections, this can be better. I might give them another try later.

I did like their red potatoes in the boil. Please add a selection of seasonings for the boil EX: Cajun boil, Garlic Salt Season Salt Boil, etc. But honestly, some a little Salt pepper or packets would be great!The boil, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp was good.Fried Battered Onion Rings were good...a lemony flavor. I like them. Okra was also good.I guess it was disappointing having to give up my hush puppies to 2 faces that really love hush puppies...then I was told...mmm these are really really good!!

I absolutely love this place! They have a drive-thru, which is super convenient. The catfish is delicious, and the coconut shrimp is great too. The tacos are tasty, and the fish sandwich is massive! I was surprised by how tiny the dip was, especially since it came with crackers. But overall, I’d give it a solid 10/10!
