Walked on Christmas Day, called in and asked for a quick drink to revive us from a long walk in the rain ….. and told ……NO! They refused to let us buy a drink. In a pub. On Christmas Day! All the staff wore an expression like a slapped backside. Absolutely vile. The whole place looked like your grandmas front room and smelt of cabbage so probably just as well.
We visited here for the first time and had a lovely roast dinner. The menu options were great, the food was really tasty and we loved the pub setting in the village.
Just visited for the first time and it won't be the last. After enjoying our starters neither me nor hubby could finish our mains. Great service, exceptional food, reasonable prices, we will be back
Have been here a few times recently and thoroughly enjoyed the visits Lovely friendly welcome and cosy indoor area and also big spacious secluded pub garden Food is great and lots of choice for vegetarians, chips amazing and prawn starter is definitely worth a try We will be back!
We came across the Wheatsheaf after a quick Google Maps search for a place to eat and we felt very pleased with ourselves with such a lucky find. The pub itself is wonderfully olde worlde with an open fire and dark wooden beams. For lunch, there was a great selection of larger meals (around the £14 £17 mark) but we opted for 'light lunches ' (around the £7.50 £9 mark) which were extremely filling, delicious and the chips were exceptional I rarely say that about chips!
