We had fish and pasta; the pasta was tasteless and the fish overcooked, and the restaurant is well overdue for a makeover. We wondered afterwards if the chef trained in a prison. It's only about 10 minutes' drive to VGR where there are many good restaurants, so there is really no reason to eat at Macondo.
We were the only guests at this relatively late hour and got all the views and potentially all the attention of the fantastic staff at Macondo. We had Roberto's rabbit in garlic sauce, super authentic mojo (in most places it's served from a jar, but here it's homemade and extra delicious) and tuna steaks. Everything tasted great. Since the place doesn't take bank cards (take note) we barely had enough cash for a proper meal. To our surprise, we were kindly offered a little credit which means we'll have a good excuse to return to Macando. P.S. the parking situation can be a bit tricky there, so drop your ride as soon as you see a spot, you'll be rewarded for a little extra walk with a fantastic view of the valley.
When we arrived in Valle Gran Rey, it was the first place we found...went there 3 times and were satisfied all the time. Location: best place to watch the Valle in the evening from the rooftop terrace (blankets are available if it is windy) Service: Very friendly and nice! Meals: A nice range of local cuisine, incredible pasta too! The high quality local ingredients make the rest! Drinking: Cava&Mango is a perfect start, the red Pata Negra delicious! Desserts: We still want the recipe of the Creme au Gofio! Thank you for the time with fantastic food and drinks! Alles gute und bis zum nächsten mal! S&G
