Had a wonderful breakfast with friends this morning. Quaint, quiet and staff was nice.
I 'm really confused because everyone really likes this place on yelp but the food was just terrible and expensive. My families was excited to give this place a try on a Friday night and that excitement quickly turned to horror. All the food was sketchy. First off when we were paying the guy at the register (maybe the owner) he said oh let me get you a different piece of cheesecake this one has mold on it, actually they all have mold on it . Then he said I 'll give you a chocolate cake for free . We order a hamburger for my daughter, she couldn 't eat more than 2 bites , she said it was dry and tasted bad plus bun was soggy and smushed. Then we made the mistake of ordering the Asian Noodles with steak. It literally was FETTUCCINE noodles, chopped up red and green bell pepper with some meat that was not even sliced and looked like it got ripped apart with someone 's bare hands. Sauce bland and had a weird taste, definitely not asian. None of us could eat that dish. Then we ordered a steak medium and it was over done, barely seasoned. Not worth it, straight to the trash can. Not to mention the side salad that came in that little plastic container was not fresh, you could tell the leaves were limp and dark, NO THANKS!! I say it all the time, a Vallejo 4 star is a 2 star anywhere else and this is a prime example. Sad because we really wanted to like this place but I 'm not trying to get food poisoning.
So rumor has it that Mannys is moving their location from Springs Road to the waterfront here in Vallejo at the location that used to be the front room on the wharf. A wonderful steakhouse is exactly what this space needed, with a welcoming environment and a full bar for locals to enjoy a fine dining experience. For this location it is long overdue. I hope that they open soon, maybe in time for holiday dinners and perhaps a Valentine's Day event. I recommend the New York steak here as well as the onion rings and the french fries. I know in this location they will be even better than what we enjoyed on Springs Road. Welcome Mannys I can't wait to come back.
Never eaten here before, but decided to get take out breakfast for my manager and I. Three super fantastic meal choices were awaiting the smackdown from my manager, co-worker and I...Chicken fried steak with red potatoes. scambled eggs. T- bone steak well done and tender with the same sides. Last but not least a California style omelet with all the fixin's and those tasty red potatoes. Food this good should be a crime and I will do the time for whoever is serving me up a plate! Im taking the whole fam bam to Mannys next time to explore whatelse is on the menu.
