Izakaya-ren - Valley Park

The food was great! The food is represented by the tuna tower, double crab (roll left), and the corona (roll right) we will eat here again because the food was worth it. I gave them a 4-star rating because the staff was not friendly and were not very attentive. After sitting, it took almost 20 minutes for them to ask for drinks and ask for the question, it took them another 15 minutes to take out our waters that were never filled again. And the rest of the meal was the same service. Hopefully they can be personalized soon!

This place was great. I literally walked easy and couldn't wait to say how great it is. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and super friendly. I will definitely eat again here.

Last Friday we first sat in food for COVID. The food was fantastic as usual. The Hamachi collar was hot and tasty. We also had Unagi Don, which was also wonderful, and the sushi fish was fresh and delicious. Our server, Brendan, gave us super fast service and was really helpful in selecting menu items so we get enough to eat without having to order. (We usually only get sushi and rolls, but wanted to try something new. Our popular local sushi.

Compared to many sushi sites, they have all your normal roles but actually have some unique options that were always excellent. Service is consistently good and rarely wait a lot.

For Sushi in St Louis I would rank Izakaya Ren as 1) having the best service of any top tier Sushi Restaurant in STL and 2) for the price the best Sushi. The quality of ingredients and skill taken to prepare at times seems lost on the patrons or they are just fully unaware how rare it is to be served REAL wasabi with their sushi instead of the standard green horseradish paste. Easily the most underrated sushi place in all of St Louis.
