OK Chinese Food on Van Nuys Blvd with a B rating was better than this place. I was really hoping it would be good as there haven’t been any good restaurants in the neighborhood in years. All of their food was old, mushy, and looked like it’s been there for days. This was a month ago when they first opened up. Their prices are the same if not more expensive than Panda Express and quality is 10x worse. Everything has the same exact seasoning. Their chow mein had a powdery texture and just tasted weird. A bunch of young guys in their early 20s were running the place of mixed descent. Doesn’t look Asian owned. Not that it has to be, but just gives you an idea of what to expect when it isn’t.
Save them a trip and beat them panda express instead. the chow mine was not properly cooked, it was hard and it had this strange season. the food looks like it had been sitting there all day when we came to home diligently to taste the food, it was super salty! we couldn't even eat it, we threw it all out. I tried to support a local business, but the experience was terrible.
I was pleasantly surprised by the food at this restaurant. Not only were the portions generous, but the nut carp and noodles were incredibly delicious. It's the perfect comfort food, and I will definitely be ordering it again.
I have to say that I believe the other reviews are unfair. The food here tastes delicious, the rice is not overly fried but more like steamed "fried" rice, and the orange chicken is also quite good. Everything seems to be a bit healthier than other Chinese fast food spots, and the portions are very generous!
