Hong Kong Buffet - Van Wert

Not a big fan of the pop-music music but EVERYTHING else is top notch. It is clean and comfortable. The two waitresses are very attentive without hovering. The variety is pretty big for a smaller place. All of the food is VERY tasty. The steam table trays are always full and the food is always hot. The chef has a real gift for creating great dishes. He makes a grilled chicken that actually tastes like tender beef. I 'm from the Washington DC area and have lived in Monterey California for a number of years and have not a more pleasant experience at a Chinese buffet. Cleanliness, service, variety, quality, price... Fantastic!

The food was so fresh and hot. The people are nice and always cleaning. They always made sure we had drinks and were happy to help with anything we asked for specifically. Nice and clean place. Best salmon I have ever had at a buffet. The sweet tea is good, it wasn’t over powered with sugar.

Tasty. Warm. Good variety of dishes! I liked that service was quick then quietly stayed in the background, but we're ready to help.

I ordered 4 items it said it would take 20 minutes, it took over a hour and half. It took so long I had to leave so I wouldn't be late to work, my brother had to come in and wait even longer on my behalf. Every time I asked how much longer the staff said 3 more minutes never checking or anything. Only for the food to be freezing cold when my brother got it and I never even got to eat before I went to work.

I consider myself to be quite picky when it comes to Chinese. And my wife and I were blown away at how many amazing entrees were on the buffet today. The Grill Chicken might be the best tasting chicken I 've ever had at a Chinese restaurant.
