I'll definitely be getting that again. My wife also got the 19th hope sandwich and she really liked that. We'll be coming back again.
The McMenamins's chain of brew pubs has its ups and downs. This is definitely one of the better ones. As always the beer is varied, fresh and tasty. The food is a step above the usual pub grub with a more varied menu and well cooked meals. The obvious attraction here is the spectacular view. Situated directly on a dike overlooking the Columbia river, the outdoor tables are coveted and often taken. Ask for the first row of inside tables by the windows if you can't get outside. The view isn't as good but it's cool and breezy there. Definitely this is one of the better places to eat in Vancouver. There is a lovely walking trail just in front for that after meal stroll as well. Highly recommended.
Honestly, I have no clue how this place has 4.2 stars. McMenamins as a chain is so overly priced, and their food consistently under performs. Staff is usually attentive, but half generally speaking appear to hate their lives. The beers are always delicious, so thank God for that. Overcooked three piece fish and chips at lunch for $24.50? I'd rather head to Beeches next time or fast. Thanks, but no thanks.
Watching the sunset on the Columbia river while enjoying this slider trio. Watching the sailboats glide by into the golden waters. A perfect way to kick off a three day weekend.
We enjoyed a tasty lunch today. The view of the river was magnificent, even in the rain! My husband had The Terminator stout and fish and chips. I had the Mac and cheese. We both enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and helpful, and right on time with my refill! Definitely worth the stop!
