Portions were generous and the prices were in line with the Vancouver scene. There just wasn’t anything that made me want to go back.
We walked down to Browns for dinner our first night in Vancouver. It is a relaxed neighborhood bar and restaurant. Lots of options that accommodated our group of six. Pizzas, salads, burgers, steaks. We enjoyed our dinner and time together.
They serve different type of food. From Pizza to burger to asian soup or salad, they have a huge variety and good quality. Price are a bit high but service is ok
We three had great service. The staff seems to be university students. some were new but all were trying very hard to look after us. The food handled carnivores and vegetarians, the beers were cold and very flavourful.
We have eaten often here. Awful experience tonight. 4 of us and started with water that you could taste the dishwasher bleach/detergent. Wine was ok, then came the awful meals. The hamburger was served after we had been served our meals 15 minutes prior apology with explanation that there was an “incident” with the burger. Not edible salted disc of meat as was the saturated salted fries. We all tasted and was not edible. The two stir fry meals were saturated with sauce and no flavour of the veggies floating in bottled teriyaki sauce. Caesar salad we shared with chicken it was ok. We sent all the rest back and went for a delicious meal across street at Buru. We were not compensated and was charged for the little we had and left so that we could eat. What a horrific experience and awful food, service and a manager that could have made an attempt at making up for this terrible inconvenience. We will not be back to our neighbourhood place we use to like to dine at.
