Located in the Residence Inn by Marriott, this bistro wine bar was our choice for dinner during our three-night stay. Upon arriving at 8pm on our first night, we were too tired to search for another dining option. The atmosphere was lively, with a few patrons scattered throughout the brightly lit room. We perused the limited menu and ordered from the friendly bartender. However, the food was disappointing. My Siciliana flatbread was lacking in flavor and texture, while my companion's grilled chicken sandwich was not as described. The seating was cramped, and the uncomfortable chairs made dining difficult. We later discovered a larger communal table at the back, which may have been a better choice for dining. The decor was dominated by clashing orange and red colors, with a busy carpet pattern that was overwhelming. Overall, this bistro wine bar may be a good spot for drinks, but I would recommend looking elsewhere for a satisfying meal.
Cavino is conveniently connected to the residence inn where my man and I stayed during our trip to vancouver. it was great to stop for a starter, dessert or a late night drink. I would recommend to anyone who lives in the residency.
If you are staying at the Marriott Residence Inn for a short time or simply feeling lazy to go out, the Cavino Bistro and Wine Bar is a great place to enjoy a beer or wine along with a meal. The menu is somewhat limited, but I tried the three cheese flatbread. They normally don't offer a meat flatbread, so I requested to add some ham which was no problem. The staff behind the bar were very friendly and accommodating. The service was quick and the food was nicely cooked.
My friend and I were attending a convention and at the end of the day, all we wanted was a good glass of wine and quick meal. We got more than that at Cavino. We ended up with several excellent meals chicken parmesan with vegetables,...spinach quesadilla, meat, cheese and bread plate and a lovely salad to name a few and very nice wine served in a timely manner with a sense of humor by David and Erick. David was a particular favorite with his witty banter and we really looked forward to coming back to the hotel after a long day and just crashing in the restaurant! He was a good sport putting up with 2 punchy ladies. He's a keeper! We highly recommend Cavino.
