The food and service were impeccable we especially enjoyed the table side service for our Caesar salad and bananas foster done by our service Chris. Dinner and an a bit of entertainment! The wine menu was extensive and surprisingly had a ton of economical options. Definitely a top favourite steakhouse in Vancouver. Recommend ordering the cheese bread

I've made a reservation and indicated that the dinner would be my first time at Hy's and the occasion was to celebrate my birthday. We also asked for a nice romantic seating area. The host simply asked who's birthday is it, and claimed that our table was tucked away somewhere quiet. They didn't seat us deep into the restaurant, but next to the bar. It was not quiet at all nor was it an intimate setting. Our server had no idea it was my birthday. No extra effort to celebrate my birthday. The food was still amazing and the server did a great job with the tableside service. Overall I felt a little disappointed. We've been to many other restaurants to celebrate birthdays and/or anniversaries and they've always made efforts to make the occasion a bit more special. Hy's did not
