Vancouver is probaby the 2nd best place to get sushi other than Japan....in my opinion...not that I have been to many places though. Love the big chunk of sashimi portion. Address: 1375 Richards Street, Vancouver, BCV6B 6M6
Lucky for me, the nigiri was a hit. The sushi rice was especially well-prepared and well-seasoned and tasted good by itself. The Hokkigai Nigiri was rather small, but it had a pleasant sweet flavour and an appealing chewiness. The Uni Nigiri was fresh and really melty with a mild, sea-like, savoury flavour. The Chopped Scallop Nigiri featured creamy, sweet scallop, and the conservative
Three words: Daily Fresh Board!<br/ When you are at Kaide Sushi Bar, do not expect lively ambiance and flashy dishes that people find at a modern Sushi place or at Izakaya. There won’t be volcano shaped food creation that explodes on your plate. You will find mostly traditional Sashimi or Sushi preparations on their menu, and everything here is high-quality and super fresh!<br/ <br/ I was determined to sample the best Kaide could offer, and ordered Kaide Supreme Sashimi, a platter of 6 kinds of the chef’s proudest choices. I was slightly bummed that I didn’t get Spot Prawn for a second, but quickly realized how special this Sashimi set already was. There were Sockeye, Abacore, Butterfish, Madai, Hamachi, Jumbo Scallop, and the precious Blue Fin! And wait a minute… Instead of 6 (described on their menu), I got 7 different kinds of Sashimi – I was such a happy camper even before I started to eat! And the sexy journey of tasting all these exquisite pieces of heaven was simply pure pleasure in my mouth! I could almost hear the angels sing. And I did not want this to end. It was just absolutely fantastic! Although all the pieces were amazing, I had to say Blue Fin was my favourite, hands down!
Very Fresh Ingredients. Though the overall price was a bit high, everything was really fresh. I especially liked the Uni Nigiri and Toro Nigiri. The Tamago was a bit too sweet for me. Big Bang and Maple roles were all good. Salmon sashimi was extremely fresh. A bit disappointed that they did not have Tempura and noodles soup that I would like to choose during Winter time.
Great sushi along with very nice staff. Great smaller sushi place. Keeps the menu simple which I like. And the fish was good and all was presented nicely. The servers, the sushi chefs, and the owner/chef were all very friendly and made for an extra enjoyable experience.
