Maruko Japanese Noodle House

I've been to this place a couple of times and I would say that the food in here are good and reasonably priced.

É um restaurante típico da comida japonesa para o dia-a-dia. O ramen (ou lamen) é igualzinho ao do Japão. Fica na Robson Street, super fácil de achar. Adorei.

Delicious! We loved their steaming miso ramen noodles. We liked the location right on Robson Street, just a few blocks from our B&B on Barclay Avenue. Service was friendly and fast. Beautiful traditional Japanese decor.

Our party of 6 ate here with a $60 groupon. It was not a challenge to use the value, but WOULD have been with only a party of four. We enjoyed the food, it was good. It wold would have also been a challenge to seat our group is we had times it wrong, as there are only two table for groups of 4 or more. The service was completely indifferent. no water, no checking on us, no tea refills, no spoons at the table, no napkins until we requested them. Whatever, we had a nice time and it was cheap, but have no great motivation to return. Am glad to have groupons to try new places reasonably!

We had the Pork Ramen ($10.45) and Aka Maruko ($9.50) for a total of $20.95 after tax. I'm not a noodle expert or a foodie but I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. There is not a lot of seating room or place to hang your jacket, and there was a bit of a lineup to get a seat on a late Saturday evening. The servers are running around trying to serve all the customers, but friendly when they get around to you. Would go back again!
