Maurya Indian Cuisine - Vancouver

This is one of our faves in vancouver! love the lamb corma! great place for good eating at a decent price!

This was our place for a special Indian food. it's been a few years since we've eaten here, and some dings have not changed: the service is still slow and lacks in professional polish, and the lights are still too bright. new this time: the music was much too loud for such an echo chamber of a room, especially if it is so schreechy and atonal. and some of the food is still good (for example the seah kebab) but my companion doubted that the haw in his hawn tikka masala had seen the inner of a tandoor, or had more than a daunting look at that. the Shahee distributor was once a wealthy experience, but also downhill. we have not complained, but we will not hurry.

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday night at 9pm and had a delicious meal. We would definitely return.

It had been several years since we last dined at Maurya, and we had fond memories of the food, atmosphere, and service. Unfortunately, our recent experience was a disappointment. The server seemed rushed and unfriendly, the food did not meet our expectations, and the ambiance was lacking. We are left wondering when they will be closing down.
