Mr Red Cafe - Vancouver

We really like going here. The menu is different from most Vietnamese restaurants around the city. Has the basics but also offers things we don't see elsewhere. The beef and carrot soup/stew is incredible, as well as the grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves. The spring rolls are crispy and delicious, and the chicken pho is super tasty as well. Great value and pleasant staff.

My family and I come to Vancouver one week out of the year, and Mr Red Cafe is always on our list! Very accommodating to large parties (my family of 10 goes) with lots of great family-style ordering. We love the shrimp spring roles w peanut sauce, beef and chicken pho, and Vietnamese dumplings!

I've only tried their vegetarian menu, but everything on it is amazing. It's the most authentic tasting Vietnamese food I've had since visiting Vietnam.

When for dinner with a bunch of friends. Food and service was ok. I paid for the entire group and paid in cash. The total didn't seem right so I asked for a receipt, waited around 15mins for them to produce it. Was then told that they over charged by about $20 and was refunded the money without any apology. Honest mistake or scam, I don't really know. Not acknowledging the mistake left a bad taste in my mouth. Remember to double check the total!

Northern Vietnamese cuisine. I have tried their other location but happen to be in the area. We came here right at 11am opening so lots of tables to choose from. Only one hour street parking close or just drive two blocks in on the side streets and no time limit.  We enjoyed the mango salad, pyramid rice dumpling filled with pork and mushrooms - nice smooth rice texture, deep fried crab meat rolls and ‎the traditional Vietnamese sandwich.  All items tasted really good.
