I realize it's order and serve yourself, but we probably would have ordered additional items if we were asked. In all the times I've visited Nando's locations (high double digits) this was the first time I would have been happy to be binge only on their Portuguese buns. They must have been just freshly baked from the oven. Tender, Soft, and Warm. Food orgasm. The sides (rice, coleslaw, fries) and chicken were fine, but not memorable. If you want a fair family meal in a low key atmosphere without being "fast food" this is your place. Don't expect exceptional, but a fair casual meal.
Simply a great casual restaurant for the whole family specializing in truly wholesome flame-grilled spice marinated chicken. The chicken is available either in wholes, halves or pieces as well as sandwiches, wings and skewers all cooked to a discerning level of spice on request. For the non-meat eater, they do have a vegetarian menu selection: although, I cannot comment on same aside from the Portobello Mushroom burger that was indeed wonderful.Nando's offers a variety of sides to accompany one's meal with our preferences leaning towards the casa salad, spiced rice, coleslaw and fries. The currently in season corn is delicious as well!To reiterate, this is a casual venue: a host(ess) does seat you and present menus, but the ordering is counter-side along with advance payment prior to table service of meals with a necessity to grab your own cutlery and the like. With that said, its a real step above fast food, mind you at a premium price - a price well worth it having being served quality and wholesome fare reminiscent of home cooking (by someone's Mama in South Africa).
Located in a great area of Vancouver, with a modern décor and vibe to match the area, they serve up the best African spice chicken in the city. and even better, that its up to you, to choose how spicy you want it. took my man there on hot date nite, and he is not a chicken eating kinda guy. he loved the spicy chicken and cant wait to go back for more.
We found Nando's conveniently located next to McDonalds (just east of East Boulevard on 41st Avenue). 'Cuz we had a hankering for chicken we ordered the Classic (whole chicken which included a side and rolls) for under $30. This provided a very satisfying mid-day repast. Ample parking is available on 41st Avenue
I used to bring the boys here after minor hockey practice and we would order one of the large orders, which would consist of a mound of chicken quarters and eighths with a proprietary chili sauce called peri-peri sauce, and fries. The food was always hot, fresh cooked, juicy and satisfying. Never had a batch that was over (or under) cooked and we always left in good spirits. It is part of a chain, so I have eaten at other franchises an not had a bad experience.
