Curb appeal, open airy feeling, high ceilings, hard surfaces on the walls and floor so a bit noisy otherwise all fine except for my dislike of row seating along the long wall - we beat the rush (in at 10 AM) and got a table for two on the north side of the bar seating. Water came quickly as did good drip coffee. Menu a bit eclectic. Ordered the Feature Omelette (mild goat cheese, corn & eggplant served with very thin sliced, deep fried potatoes) and the Fermented Red Fife Kasha (fife, diced apples, mushrooms in a sweet sauce). Both dishes were a decent size with good flavours.Service efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Washrooms clean, credit cards accepted. Would do this again.
Our menu : - a poor salad for two- one dish with gnocchi (4 gnocchi !) and little quantity sides- one dish with elk shoulders was good but quantity was small- one glass of wine- on cocaPlus we waited for bread that never cameAll this for more than 100 Dollars !!!!! Extremely noisy so basically you cannot talk to your friendWho are they making fun of?We were extremely disappointed. To avoid
I had dinner with my family at Nomad in July 2017, and it was one of the best restaurant meals I've had in Vancouver. The Bread & Spread started us off with a rich flavoured olive bread complemented with a nicely flavoured butter. The Roasted Wild Boar Rack entree was tender, flavourful, and came with a nice assortment of fresh vegetables and a very good "cube" of potatoes that had been thinly sliced...very good. Others at the table had the Hand-made Peppercorn Spaghetti (delicious), and the daily halibut special (also delicious). You can't make a mistake dining here...absolutely one of Vancouver's best!
The restaurant itself is very stylish and understated. The staff were very open and friendly and served us very well. We loved the locally sourced food (We had the grilled calamari and the wild boar). Portions were sensible so we had room for a small sorbet as dessert, also delicious. Prices were ok for the level of the quality and service. Definitely one to be recommended.
