Pink Elephant Thai Restaurant

I love Thai food. I have visited Thailand many times and I know good Thai food, mediocre Thai food, and terrible Thai food. This definitely ranks in the last category. We went there due to proximity to hotel and being tired after having walked 18km, and recommendation from someone at the hotel (staff). The reviews on line were not great but we decided to take a chance. We should have hesitated when we saw an empty restaurant, but braved our way into a terribly painted brilliant PINK place with no sense of authenticity about it. The menu was unremarkable but one could see influences of other cultures (not Thai). We ordered spring rolls, and they were more like a Chinese fat egg roll. We did not finish them. My colleague ordered Pad Thai and it tasted like egg noodles with a tinny can of tomato soup poured over them. Dreadful. I had the green curry and it was tasty and had some spice but the one dish was not enough to redeem the meal. With good Thai places around, save your time, money, and calorie intake for somewhere else!

Good place to grab a lunch, efficient service and good value for money if you get the lunch specials, particularly considering the location. Quite small and fairly cramped, but did not feel intrusive on other diners. Food was tasty with a good ratio of meat to noodles, but do not expect a gourmet meal experience

Our food was good. Levels of spiciness were all medium - didn't matter the # of chili pepper icons on menu. We had green curry (quite good) and kra pow that was good but would have liked more basil. Had a lychee mojito that I would have again. A good fusion.

Ate here with friends on a slow night. Two of the three of us had food so substandard we couldn't eat it. I would have sent it back but nobody came to see how we were. The third of my party only had half of her food delivered even after asking three times. Finally had to get up and look for a server. When taking our plates the server finally asked if something was wrong with my food. When I told her it was not good enough to eat, she said sorry and asked if I would like to take the rest home (???). Nothing else was done. I will never return to or recommend this place. It gets one star because the decor is nice and one because one of us had something edible. Don't take your chances here, it's worth waiting for a table at a better restaurant.

I came here for their lunch one day with a friend, and they have an excellent lunch menu, with excellent lunch specials. It was a cozy atmosphere, and the staff was great!
