We stopped by for breakfast one morning on the recommendation of a friend. Totally worth it. We each ordered savoury waffles - I had the ABBA (apple, bacon, brie, avocado with a maple balsamic reduction) and the hubby had the West Coast (eggs, hollandaise, smoked salmon). They were a delicious way to start the day and the coffee was good, too
Great waffles, savory and sweet, along with full breakfast choices, and lunch . Look forward to returning and sampling other options
We had been talking about going to Scandilicious for quite some time, but had somehow just not managed to work our way across town yet. Mother's Day was the perfect excuse to justify the trip. Prepared for the restaurant being on the small side and this being Mother's Day, we arrived at the restaurant's opening time and were glad we did. It was busy! With all the build up, I was a little worried that the actual restaurant would not live up to the expectations, but I am happy to report that all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our experience.Three of us chose from the sweet waffle options (two had the apple pieffle and one the lovers waffle); I was the only one that opted for a savoury waffle (the west coast). Excellent choices one and all! The poached eggs on my waffle were perfect. Yum! And the sweet choices had people swooning! The restaurant also sells its one coffee beans. A surprise gem was the lemon cookie that I chose when purchasing the beans. A wondrous mis of crispy, chewy and lovely (not in your face) lemon flavour. If we lived remotely near the neighbourhood, we'd probably be regulars, but as it is, we'll just have to look forward to coming back on the next special occasion.
Was here today for the first time and was definitely Wowed!!! I eat gluten free so was wonderful to have not just a GF waffle, but one with smoked salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce (plus capers/onions)...such decadence. The presentation was beautiful and the eggs poached just how I like them...not hard cooked, but not runny either. The dish was a perfect size, one gorgeous waffle topped with all good things. Often restaurants are a bit skimpy on the hollandaise, but here was just right, enough to last to the last delicious bite. One comment I would make is that for a savory waffle, the batter had a lot of vanilla flavor in it. I know they likely don't have two GF batters, but it would definitely go better with a sweet waffle. Guess that means I will have to go back for the apple cinnamon one or perhaps the strawberry...hmmm...decisions...It is a small restaurant and I can imagine very busy for breakfast/lunch. We got there about 1320, just as the lunch crowd was clearing out, so good timing.
