For a long time, finding a good breakfast in Vancouver was a challenge. However, things have improved in recent years, though you may have to be prepared to wait in a long line at popular breakfast spots. Get in quick and enjoy breakfast here before the crowds catch on! I dined solo and tried the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, which were delicious and beautifully presented. The Irish wheat bread that accompanied them was outstanding! My only regret was not having someone with me to order another dish from my short list so I could sneak bites. I guess I'll just have to return to try either the mushroom toast or the hearty black pudding sandwich.
I stopped by for a quick snack and a glass of scotch. The staff was very pleasant, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the location was trendy. The area has been developed with modern touches. You can easily see the contrast between one side of the street and the other.
The Heather Hospitality Group and its employees were fabulous beginning when we booked to have our 43-person wedding party here. They went over a tip at each point. Darren, the manager organized for our ceremony to be in the Shebeen Whisky bar, which are some of the best whisky you ever drink, including Talliska our Fave from the island Skye (No worry staff are super well known, even if my spell is out) food is hard. We eat here and in the Irish heather much, even if we don't get married! My Fave is the fish and chips with a guinness. You can't go wrong here, good food, good people. We had Färsche and Maische and Lammburger have our ducks. There was even a vegan pancake for our veggie friends she said it was excellent, and also fresh! We saw how they were made by the cook when we arrived! Thanks for us xxx
We were in Gastown this week, and called in to The Salty Tongue twice on the same day. Both times we sat in the long table room. On our first visit we both had a coconut syrup latte, and it was superb. Really rich and creamy coffee. The staff here are very friendly. After a wander round Gastown and the Chinese gardens, we went back for some lunch. We had two toasted sandwiches the cheese and mushroom veggie, and the corned beef ruben. Both were superb, but the ruben was the winner. Nice toasted bread, with really tasty tender corned beef, cheese, and sauerkraut. A great place for a coffee and a light lunch, and we would definitely go back again on future trips. Highly recommended.
