I have not been able to make my way out here in ages, but the pizza here was legendary. The thick and crispy crust, along with a rustic sauce, and the blend of mozzarella and yellow edam are what the pizza what it is. Just as New Yorkers have their pizza, and the Chicagoans have their deep dishes, I feel Zorro's approach to pizza would have been the appropriate style of pizza that Vancouver should have been known for.Unfortunately, the main man behind this gem has left us and Vancouver may subsequently never see pizza like this ever again. Eleftherios Siliverdis was a wonderful man and he will be missed.
I grew up in the area and for the past thirty years I have loved and enjoyed Zorros Pizza. I have introduced friends, boyfriends and now my husband to this place and every person has been impressed. The crust is medium thickness, its both chewy and crunchy, its a marvel. The pizzas are always loaded with toppings and smothered in a thick blanket of melted, real mozzarella cheese. Seriously, my mouth watered typing this, it's that good. I have since moved away from the neighbourhood, and every once in a while I will drive the 35 minutes to pick up a couple of these amazing pies. I have never been disappointed, not once in over 30 years.Pick up, delivery only. Cash only. Old school owner who is a delight.
Word of mouth recommendations are welcome, and my husband was told by his colleague to not miss going to Zorro's for pizza. We were not disappointed. These are substantial pizzas and tasty! Cash only. Take out and delivery. Only 1 or 2 small tables that look like ones for staff or for waiting while your pizza is being prepared.
We're a little nervous about eating here when we first saw the place. It's a little hole-in-the wall rundown storefront with no sitdown dining. This pizza joint has been around since the 80's and it looks like it's never been updated. After trying the food, though, it's obvious that this pizza place has lasted over the years because of it's great food! ThickCrust pizza with generous toppings and it's baked well. The prices are on par with mainstream pizza places.
