It was a very pleasant experience with a lively atmosphere, friendly and skilled staff, and a clean environment. The food was excellent both in appearance and taste, showing careful attention to preparation. The salads were fresh with no heavy dressings. They had a good selection of drinks, including a variety of beers and well-crafted mixed drinks. Overall, it is a great spot for a quick and casual lunch or a leisurely dinner.
What a wonderful find! While traveling through Illinois on I-70, we decided to skip the typical fast food options and came across Blind Society on Google Maps. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and was surprisingly busy for a Thursday night in a small town. The decor was charming, especially the wallpaper in the dining room. We ordered the champagne chicken and fried pork chop, along with sides of potatoes, asparagus, and garlic beans. The meals were all delicious, with the mushroom sauce on the champagne chicken standing out. We also got a strawberry cream cake to go, which did not disappoint. Next door, there is a newly opened distillery called Witness, which was also worth checking out. Overall, we were impressed and wished we could visit Blind Society more often. It's just a quick 5-minute drive from the highway, and we appreciate their commitment to quality in a small town. Thank you Blind Society! (IG @mereditheatspdx)
First time at Blind Society. The building and atmosphere are decent. High top tables, dinner tables and the bar. The service was fair. Long and drawn out between drinks and finally getting our dinner. The appetizer was over cooked. I had tortellini and it had obviously been sitting for quite some time before it was served. I had heard good things about the restaurant and so I was disappointed in our experience. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Traveling from St. Louis to Indianapolis. Wanted some things besides fast food. Blind Society turned out to be an awesome choice. Food was good service was good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Brisket Tacos
I was pleasantly surprised to discover a hidden gem of a restaurant in this small town. Vandalia seems to have a few excellent dining options. The food was top-notch and the staff were well-informed about allergies. The cocktails were also delicious. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will definitely make a point to revisit.
