Tandoori aloo Parathas (will come with either raita or pickle... They got upset when I asked for both!!! , aloo matar had a nice coconut flavor.... Super tasty food. Intact Mini was sweet enough to prepare nice hot curd rice for my son even though it was not on the menu!
Glorios, right next to the club Mahindra property is a decent place to have a meal if you are looking for seafood or Goan cuisine . The rates are more reasonable than club Mahindra , so it is popular with the patrons staying there. We visited it with the boys for lunch and were happy with the crab and the prawns. We also tried the chicken chopsuey , which was fairly decent . I had a fresh lime soda while the boys had beer. All at a fraction of what it would have cost us at Club Mahindra. Though it was a little warm, the surroundings were clean.
An excellent shack in Varca just 40 mins walk down the beach from Benaulim. We went here several times and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. There are not that many sunbeds but enough for the customers they had. The beds had sunshades were enhanced by the coconut trees which gave extra shade. The service from the young waiter was excellent as was the food in the shack. A little gem of a place.
I have to say, this is the only beach shack in South Goa where you can find tasty food. Most of the other shacks serve flavorless dishes. As someone from North India, Glorios is the only place where we found authentic Indian dishes with great taste.
Glorio Shack and Glorio Restaurant, located in Varca area near Club Mahindra Varca, are two underrated dining spots worth visiting. Glorio Shack may not look as appealing as its neighbors, but it offers excellent seafood dishes, especially Goan specialties. We were impressed by the consistency and quality of the dishes we tried, including Rawa Prawn, Crab Xacutti, Chicken Chilli Fry Goan, Pomfret Richaldo, and Grilled Red Snapper. The chef, Mr. Alok, previously worked at Zuri and now collaborates with a Goan lady to create authentic Goan flavors. The service, led by the energetic Shiva, was enthusiastic and attentive. We also enjoyed a Chicken Noodle dish and heard great things about the recommended aloo parathas for breakfast. Glorio is open until 11 pm, offering beachside dining by candlelight with the sound of crashing waves under the stars. Don't miss out on this hidden gem when in Varca! The team at Glorio will surely impress you.
