As part of a small 7person group that has just visited aix en provence, stopped for dinner. from the local autobahn, on a hill and then on a dirt ride, one could not find this place unless they were before. fortunately, our guide,...and arranged a wonderful evening dinner of weeping, goat pattie, with a main course of roasted lamb and sweet. service very attentive (we were the only group in the main restaurant), presentation of all dishes excellent, and eating very well. a fabulous culinary experience.
The first review about the place being mediocre is accurate, both as to overcooked food and poor service (cold, unfriendly, inattentive), though we were the only ones in the resto for some time after our 8:00 arrival.
Mediocre service and food, not sure what all the rave reviews are about....fish was overcooked as were the roasted meats, service was not great, no one checking to see if we needed more wine or water or anything, wouldn't recommend going. La Garde down the...road, with pizza and grilled meats was a much better experience.
Our tour scheduled a dinner at a restaurant that makes you feel you're eating at someone's country home. We were greeted with regional traditional French music by a musician(dressed in traditional costume) who played the flute as well as the drum. The lamb was grilled...in a wood burning oven. Lamb was among the best I've had anywhere. How the restaurant was decorated and set up was very well done.
