Wandering Dog - Ventura

This was a pretty expensive, not enjoyable birthday dinner for my husband. Arrived late noon on a Saturday. Not very busy. Male host looked at us, seated us and provided absolutely no greeting! Walked similar to the walking dead! Even told my husband that guy needs some coffee. Waited FOREVER for server, he was pleasant. Asked for water. Got our order almost immediately. Brought by someone else. He ordered the Reuben sandwich, which he loved. I ordered the Shrimp and Calamari. It was greasy and tasteless. Calamari is one of my favorite foods. The shrimp were huge, but greasy. Never got our water! Server never returned!! People on the other side of us had a very attentive, friendly server. Not us! Walking Dead host brought us the check. Left for a New York minute, came back and said oh, you 're not ready ? I 'd barely had enough time to look at the bill! He left and never came back. Waited, had to flag him down (mind you, they are still not very busy), gave him my CC, and NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN! After waiting a respectable amount of time, we look for him, and he 's chatting up a female server! Told him you never brought back my card . He says oh , reaches over and hands me the stuff to sign. No apologies! No where to rest the tiny clip board to sign. Needless to say, I didn 't tip, and I 'm never going back!! MANAGEMENT: provide your staff with some customer service training!! Eating out is a luxury for many nowadays. My bill was $80. Not cheap for an unpleasant experience.

What an amazing meal we had! from the shrimp w/thai chili sauce to the clam chowder and all the fish and chips selections. you won't be disappointed, enjoy a gastronomical event there soon. plus a beautiful harbor and shop to stroll as you work off all the food you'll consume. the staff was so attentive and friendly too!!

Came here after a long walk with our family and pup on a Monday morning. We were so hungry so this place had the perfect patio to enjoy the morning. There was only one server who was also running the bar so service was a little slow. However, she was fantastic super funny and made us feel like family. She also made a mean ass **** Mary!! It was hot so I order the High SeasYogurt bowl. Yogurt was thick and creamy and fruit was super fresh! Great refreshing way to start the morning.

$29.99 Steak Lobster Wednesday 's. I Do Not Recommend Sorry Twice in a week! While we dined last Sunday we saw their advertisement for Steak Lobster $29.99 Wednesday 's 2pm 9pm so we came in around 3pm with our son and daughter in law and our server says oh no I 'm sorry that is not available until 4pm uhhh? No? We kindly asked for them to honor it since it was just 3 days ago we dined here and saw the advertised special she said she 'd ask the mgr and of course they did honor it. Thanks for that. Unfortunately it was not good. All four of us ordered it. The tails were small and VERY salty! The steak also very small piece of meat, the flavor was not good. Bottom line overall poor quality. Such a bummer! I 've had excellent meals here and this was a total disappointment.

Excellent service. Great view of the harbor area. An excellent live band and great food rounds out the experience. Delicious selection of beers too!
