Barrio Barbecue - Veracruz

La atención de los meseros es excelente, ideal para un desayuno en familia o de negocios. La comida tiene un buen sazón con un toque especial de la cocina del sur de Veracruz, como el café, la carne chinameca, la cochinita pibil, las memelas y las gorditas de chicharrón, todo delicioso. En mi opinión, solo les hace falta un área de juegos.

Vale la pena visitar este restaurante en tu viaje a Boca del Río, recomiendo mucho los cortes. En general, todo está muy bien, ¡no dejes de visitarlo!

¡Los waffles de frutos rojos son excepcionales! Y los tlacoyos de requesón con flor de calabaza. Las salsas son deliciosas, el pan dulce de la casa también es muy bueno. Todo está muy sabroso.

If you like BBQ, real BBQ, then this place is a must. Now, to be clear, we're not talking about off-the-shelf BBQ, or cooked meat in which you add BBQ sauce at your table, this is meat that has been prepared in a chef-made BBQ sauce. It does not come to your table dripping in sauce and that's because it was prepared correctly. Well, the ribs might drip a little, but you get my point. There are places here in Boca that have good BBQ sauces, but Barrio BBQ is the only place that prepares authentic BBQ plates. I would suggest starting with the sampler platter, which is a little taste of some of their best plates, and then make a decision. The other outstanding quality of this restaurant is that it's not expensive. My wife and I have gone there several times and we both leave fat and happy for between $35-40. That includes a couple beers and some wine. Really, I can't say enough good things about this place.The only down-side to this place is its location. Plaza Vela is not big, it only has one entrance, and you can miss it easily. If you visit Barrio BBQ by taxi then you won't have a problem because the drivers know where Plaza Vela is, but if you're driving then you'll need to take it slow so you don't miss the entrance. Barrio BBQ is on the south side of the Plaza, so if you're going driving south then you can see it, but if you're driving north then you'll need to just look for Plaza Vela. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Really great food at a really great price.
