Service excellent, swords come until we said enough, buffet was extensive and constantly refilled. This is the third Mr. Pampas we have visited, one of whom in Guadalajara... in Querétaro and this one in Veracruz.
This is a Brazilian BBQ restaurant where freshly grilled meat is served on skewers. There is also an exceptionally large buffet to supplement the meat. On the buffet you will find not only a wide selection of salads, but also local delicacies... such as Pulp-Octopus), cactus, Planos roasted Plantains), Empanadas, Dips, Breads, Desserts, even a huge wheel of Parmesan, which you can scratch on your food. The meat is absolutely delicious! They have many different cuts of beef, chicken, pigs and lamb as well as seafood. My favorite was pork carving that bbq'd and then were recruited in Parmesan cheese! If you are after 7:00 a.m. on a weekday, men will be charged about 225 $15CAD) Pesos and women 195 $13CAD, which for all you eat restaurant for dinner. The staff was excellent; very attentive and accommodating. Many of them spoke English, although my husband speaks Spanish, they were very helpful and patient when I tried to use my limited Spanish vocabulary.
I thought I was going to need a wheelchair to leave this restaurant. The large salad bar buffet aside, they just kept coming to the table with every type of meat on a sword you could possibly think of. Amazing!
After having been to other places in the USA that are like this location like Texas de Brazil, I expected more. The buffet bar is small, the service was not the largest and the meat was very dry. I've never been asked what kind I've cut and all meat seemed to be done well. It was very clean and we went for lunch on a Friday and had no problem without reservation. Nice touch to the buffet that she had some local food.
The staff is friendly and the service is infinite. I was in several of these Brazilian style restaurants, but this is the best in terms of the variety of food offered, the quality of food, and the price that is amazingly low for what you...get. I've been there three times on this trip. Try the pineapple grilled with Canela, the shrimps, the fillet mignon. Heck, try everything!
