We had a lovely two night stop over during our Tour of Mont Blanc trek. There are only a couple of rooms with a shared bathroom but for the price it was perfectly comfortable and a welcome change from the refuges we had stayed in this far. Jamie, the owner and Chef is a top bloke and very friendly and welcoming and always willing to have a chat. His food is superb and cooked fresh and changes weekly dependant on the season and availability of ingredients. I highly recommend his curries as the one on the menu during our stay was so good I had it for dinner both evenings. We were travelling with a friend who was stopping in the nearby village but Jamie allowed him to have breakfast with us on our second day as we were leaving early and for free! He even provided us an excellent packed lunch for the day at a reasonable cost too. One tip I would offer if staying in the area is to buy the activities ticket it costs 9 francs and allows all day travel on the buses plus entry to something like 15 activities such as the alpine gardens in Champex which normally costs 8 francs alone. So you get all day travel on the buses to local villages for 1 franc. Bargain. Anyhow, I highly recommend the Ptarmigan B&B.
Stanze piccole e bagno condiviso.
This is a long overdue review of an excellent restaurant that we encountered en route, on the walk from Chamonix to Zermatt. Delicate and intelligent arrangements with superb fresh produce. Don't miss it if you are passing through town.
Have never been but followed Jamie's passion for food for many years and taking into account a family tradition of cooking, chefs, bakers, cooks and gamekeepers along with his passion of fine foods which in many ways he was inspired by my own love of, French, Italian and Thai cuisine, Bon Appetite.
