I love the Beef House! You can not beat their hot rolls. However, I'm old enough to know what the Beef House used to be. My review of the food is based on the change over the years. The filets and ribeyes used to be the best. What I get now are smaller and lesser cuts of meat. And for the price of meat right now, i just can't do it. After covid, they did not bring back the salad bar. However, the sald they bring you is very nice. The croutons are the bomb! Their dressings are always very fresh and good. I typically get the Cod dinner now. It's always very good. Their cream of Brocoli soup is top notch. I suggest going on Sunday for the specials. Always homemade and delicious! Did I mention the hot rolls? You can buy them also!
I miss the salad bar. Everything was cooked to perfection. I got a few of the early bird specials to take back home for a midnight snack. Truly amazing service and food
I've been dining here for many years. Believe it was back in the early 90's at the latest. It's always been a habit to stop and eat here when I'm traveling in this area. I've noticed a decline in everything it seems across the board. It's pretty evident that some remodeling and upkeep needs to be done. To me it's a sign of a business that may be headed for its last days, I sure hope not. This afternoon I stopped in and was seated promptly, but my waiter was in training and it was pretty evident. He shouldn't have been on his own at this early stage. A point to be made is that he started and cleared the table without asking if I was done. I was in the process of attempting to eat my salad and soup, when my main course was brought out and shuffled right in with my salad and soup. Talk about getting everything at once! I noticed that the strawberry jam/preserves and the apple butter come in plastic small containers, not the best presentation at least not like it once was. I ordered the calves liver with the grilled onions with a side of mashed potatoes and white gravy. The rolls were very good as they have been in the past and the flavor of the apple butter and strawberry preserves was also very good, but the liver was a different story. Normally you can easily cut a fresh piece of calves liver with your fork, but not this baby. It was all you could do to cut it with a knife. Would have been nice to have had a steak knife. The flavor of the liver was also funky as if it was old. Just was right. The corn chowder was very good. The salad was ok. My iced tea was very good and they did put a slice of lemon in it as I ordered. My waiter did give me two hot rolls to take home and offered me tea to go. Times are rough with prices, obtaining help, overhead and on and on. I have no answers and I'm saddened by the things that businesses have to deal with these days. God willing it will get better soon.
Awesome place to eat. Great service and friendly staff.
